Government Incentives
Queensland Government Incentives
The Queensland Government is committed to the development of the film and television production industry and as such, provides a range of assistance, both non-financial and financial, through the Pacific Film and Television Commission (PFTC), to productions filming in Queensland.
Non-financial assistance
The PFTC offers free advice and assistance regarding any Queensland location.
If your project is "greenlit" and has secured finance, you may be able to access the PFTC’s service, which includes:
- a professional breakdown of your script.
- in-depth research in relation to your production needs.
- supply of a hardcopy and digital pictorial presentation from PFTC's extensive database of Queensland locations.
- provision of a professional Location Manager as part of our location scouting service.
Financial Incentives
There are many benefits that make Queensland the most attractive place in the world to film your next project, including ways to significantly reduce below-the-line costs. Queensland crew rates and other production costs are lower than most international and Australian locations and the Queensland Government and the local councils have worked hard to ensure location access costs are amongst the most competitive globally.
Queensland also offers a full payroll tax rebate to qualifying productions, and cash incentives may also be available subject to availability. For more information refer to the PFTC website or email locations@pftc.com.au.
